Courage & Forgiveness

On stage without a helmet
Outlined with the armor of self belief
Grief and perseverance got me here
Courage and forgiveness will keep me strongly in place
At the dinner table we say Grace
Pulling my chair up to a buffet the world is serving
Too much wine got me slurring
Put the gold gimlet down
Rome was a presence of power
Presently this hour
Our taste of power is sour
Not enough flavors added to this so called melting pot
Left out on the side to rot
Right in front of the eyes
Truth lives disguised
Camouflaged by the lies
Adding up the cost and don't even know why
The good die young
Feeling the emotions of life and death
The weight of reality
Still I won't sweat
Holding on
I'm not done yet
Bet I take a chance
Bet I gamble in this vein
Win, lose or draw my image and likeness will remain the same
Like a caged Zoo lion
Wild but controlled
Like a baby in a stroller
Spazin' but the wheels roll
Tasks, work, something to do to pass the clicks
